What can I expect in our first meeting?
Our first session is all about getting to know each other and seeing if we’re a good fit. We’ll talk about what’s going on for you, what brought you here, and what you’re hoping to get out of counselling. There’s no pressure to dive into anything heavy—just an open space to chat and get comfortable. I’ll also fill you in on how things work and answer any questions you have about the process. By the end, you’ll know if we’re on the same page and how we can move forward.
Do you do direct billing?
At this time, I do not offer direct billing. However, I’m happy to provide you with a detailed receipt after each session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement if your plan covers counselling services. If you have any questions about this process, feel free to ask—I'm here to help make it as smooth as possible.
Does my insurance cover the session?
Some extended health insurance plans do cover counselling services provided by a Registered Professional Counsellor – Candidate (RPC-C). Coverage varies depending on your provider and specific plan.
Clients have successfully received reimbursement from insurers such as Sun Life, Green Shield, Equitable Life, Pacific Blue Cross, Manulife, and Canada Life, but it’s important to confirm your coverage directly with your provider.
How to check if you're covered:
✔ Check your benefits booklet or online insurance portal for “Counselling” or “Psychotherapy” services
✔ See if services provided by a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC-C) or clinical counsellor are included
✔ Call your insurance provider with the following questions:
Does my plan cover counselling by an RPC-C?
What is the maximum amount covered per session/year?
Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Can I choose between virtual and in-person sessions?
At this time, I am only offering virtual counselling sessions. This allows me to provide flexible, accessible support no matter where you are located. I will keep you informed if in-person sessions become available in the future.
